Team Out of Town Blog Hub – The leading airline in the Philippines, Cebu Pacific (PSE: CEB), is expanding its domestic footprint with the launch of its latest direct connection between Manila and Camiguin on 15 November and the resumption of direct flights from Cebu to Camiguin on 9 November.
Both routes will be operated by Cebu Pacific’s wholly owned subsidiary Cebgo, using its fleet of ATR aircraft.
“We are very happy to launch these direct flights on time with the gradual resumption of domestic tourism. Camiguin is another underrated gemstone that we believe travelers will be happy to discover. At the same time, these direct connections will allow residents to fly comfortably to and from Cebu and Manila, whether for entertainment or business purposes, ”said Xander Lao, CEO of Cebu Pacific.
To mark the launch of these routes, seats in both fields are sold at a price of the PHP88 base rate from October 27 to November 10, 2021. The travel period is from the respective launch dates until December 31, 2021.
Passengers can conveniently use their existing travel funds to pay for their reservations, or CEB’s latest e-wallet options – Gcash, GrabPay and PayMaya.
Camiguin Island is famous for its famous sandy beach of White Island, the sunken cemetery, the sea sanctuary, and its Lancones Festival, which is celebrated every October, among others.
Camiguin Island requires arriving tourists to create an account at cleancamiguinqr.com and upload the necessary documents as a completed health declaration form, along with proof of full vaccination against COVID-19. In addition, passengers must also present a negative RT-PCR test – taken at least 72 hours before departure, if from Luzon; taken at least 48 hours before departure if from Visayas and Mindanao.
Tourists will also need to upload proof of a confirmed reservation from an LGU-accredited facility or a permit from the municipal health official if they are staying in a private home. Once completed, tourists must withdraw their ID card with a QR code and keep a copy for presentation before the flight.
All tourists will also have to take an antigen test on their fifth day on the island.
CEB will start operating twice a week between Cebu and Camiguin on November 9 (every Tuesday and Saturday); and twice a week every Monday and Friday, beginning Nov. 15, between Manila and Camiguin.
CEB has been rated 7/7 stars by airlineratings.com for its compliance with COVID-19, as it continues to apply a multi-layered approach to safety, in line with global aviation standards. These include daily extensive clean-up and disinfection protocols for all aircraft and equipment, pre-duty antigen testing for all veterans and crew members, and non-contact flight procedures. Its aircraft fleet is equipped with hospital-grade HEPA air filters that protect against viruses.
